In a unexpected crossover event that breaks usual predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Revealed

According to the authorized statement, "An unusual confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of banned rituals and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The narrative features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine cult.

The questline concentrates on "strange trials and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Transformations

The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Extra Content

Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an exclusive katana together with several items secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

This release also introduces the game's third free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
